| HELLO EVERYBODY!!!
Warning...This might be long. So how is everyone? I hope everyone's past days have been blessed. I've been good. 18 hours of school is eating me alive but I know God's watching over me. This past weekend was fun. My good buddy Corbett Thompson,who's a youth minister at First Baptist Fannete, asked me to be a Youth Leader for his Disciple NOW weekend. We had a blast. God really blessed our weekend. Enough about me, here's some words that I hope encourage you all.
GOD'S WORD!!!
Have you ever thought about what God's will is for you? At first thought, God’s will seems so oppressively restrictive that it’s frightening. And we’re scared we’ll be told to go somewhere awful and do something embarrassing. In reality, for us to fear God’s commands is as unnatural as a shivering child fearing sunshine or as someone sick fearing health. To obey God is to say good-bye to mistakes and regret and open the door to excitement and achievement.
No one understands you like our Maker. No one knows your future like our God. No one has your best interest at heart like the One who shed his blood for you. No one can bring you happiness like the Inventor of sex and sunsets, sight and sound, touch and taste, life and beauty. He alone offers heaven.
When you really analyze it, nothing could be more exciting, fulfilling and rewarding than God’s desires for you. Fearing God’s will is as irrational as worrying about what the world’s best mechanic might do to your car, and as stupid as insisting on defusing a bomb for fear that experts will not do it properly. The Almighty, your Creator and Savior, is selflessly devoted to maximizing your happiness. Moreover he has infinite knowledge. When God asks you to do something, he is granting you the unique privilege of tapping into the greatest Mind in the universe. You have the opportunity to do something infinitely smart.
Now let’s be brutally frank. God’s directions are seldom that clear, although when the situation demands that degree of clarity, he will give it. Mostly, God leads by such things as vague feelings. That can be frustrating, but it’s our opportunity to let faith rise, trusting God to guide with whatever degree of clarity divine wisdom knows is best, while we play our part by drawing close and listening intently. God and I seem to have an on-going argument. ‘Speak louder!’ I keep telling God. And I think he keeps replying, ‘Listen harder!’

Matthew 11: 28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Worry ends when faith in God begins.

1 John 4:4 "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So fix your eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Romans 8:31 "If God is for us, who can be against us?"

| Well, here it is!!!
Finally, my long awaited return to the wonderful world of Xanga has reached its journey's end. I'M BACK!!! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Well, since we last spoke my Great-Grandmother has passed away from a strok(God blessed her so much), and my Grandfather had a stroke and is still in the hospital, and my step-dad had an episode at home and collapsed and passed out on the floor(at first we thought it was a stroke but after so many tests we still don't know what's wrong. But it's in God's hands which is great news. He's better now. OK, who knew 18 hrs. worth of school would be so time consuming(I did) , but, it'll all be worth it when August gets here. Why you ask (and I did hear you ask) because that is when the past 5 years of college will make sense, maybe!?! Anyway, this semester has been a pretty interesting one so far. Yes people, I have actually learned some very interesting things in class. For example, we talked about King James I and the commission of the King James Bible, which William Shakespeare had a hand in, very interesting (at least it is for me). Oh and please do not get confused people... Shakespeare DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE!*?!!!! I only mention that because someone actually asks the question (in my college class). NO, but Shakespeare did help to transcribe the Bible into the King James version. Anyway, enough about me. And now...

Have you ever thought about what makes you so special? I Have. Have you ever thought about what makes you so special as a Christian? That shouldn't be a hard question to answer, right? Actually, a lot of people, including myself, have asked themselves this question before. Either they're having some type of problem in a relationship or just a problem in general. And sometimes (speaking from personal experience here) we go through spiritual lows or times where we're just not feeling close to God. Anyway, if you have felt or are feeling like you're going through this drought, then I hope these words from God are the spark that will relight your fire and give you a new passion. (APAR would be so excited about this first verse.)
You Are A New Creation

| The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "5 Weird & Random things of yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a xanga entry about their 5 weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 5 people to be tagged and list their xanga IDs. Don't forget to leave a cOmment that says "You are tagged" in their xanga and tell them to read yours.
1. I'm really obsessed with zombie movies.
2. I watch any one of the Lord of the Rings movies at least once a week.
3. I usually get about 3 hours of sleep each night and not for any particular reason other than I just can't fall asleep.
4. When I get time or it's a clear night, I like to either fall asleep on my hammock or lay out a blanket in the bed of my truck and watch the stars. It pretty cool how many times you can see shooting stars.
5. I really like old black and white movies, preferably old Sinatra movies. Recently, that's all i've been listening to.

Now, on another note. I feel like I'm just really gettin hit hard and I'm getting pretty down. First of all, I got a ticket a while back, like in August, and now my defensive driving is due by the 19th. Second, I went to Blockbuster today to get a defensive driving movie and the guy there told me I couldn't rent it because there was a movie and a game( both things i've never rented like THE HOSTAGE and POKEMON for Gamecube, I DON"T EVEN HAVE A GAMECUBE!!!) that haven't been returned. So i have to take care of that sometime. Lastly, I got a letter from Austin yesterday saying they were going suspend my driver's license by Dec. 20th. (has nothing to do with my previous ticket). TOTAL CONFUSION. SO............. I need to get all of these things fixed and more. Either the devil is trying to bring me down( which I can't let him get to me) or GOD is keeping me on my feet by making my life more interesting (which, knowing our Lord, will only make me stronger through these trials.) So...in everything thank GOD. It's hard but because of who He is and what He does for us, it's the least we can do.

| Guess it's time for me to post. Well, I hope everybody's doin good. I had a good Thanksgiving. I went to Corpus Christi to visit my grandma and some uncles, aunts, and cousins, and, my dad and my 6 month old brother, Jonathan David (JD for short). He's the coolest little kid (and why not, he's related to me, hah hah, just playing but not really). Here are some thoughts before I go....
I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I wish to be. I am not even what I hope to be. But by the cross of Christ, I am not what I was.
Remember to do what you can, with what you have, were you are. Don't be afraid to accomplish something for Christ because of you're past or because you feel that you don't know enough scripture or because you feel as though you can't do very much because you're just one person. If you think you’re too small to have an impact try going to bed with a mosquito in the room. Let's take action.
Lord, grant that the FIRE of my heart may melt the lead of my feet. | | |
